CHICAGO – The University of Chicago women's cross country team earned an at-large berth on Sunday and will be returning to the NCAA Division III Championship meet.
The Maroon women have now qualified for NCAA nationals seven-straight years dating back to 2010. Their best performance in that time is a fourth-place finish in 2013. Last season, UChicago placed 15th in the team standings.
Last Saturday, the Maroons took third place at the NCAA Midwest Regional. Junior Khia Kurtenbach was the individual champion with a time of 21:41.22 in the 6K race.
The NCAA Division III Championship will occur on Saturday, Nov. 19 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The women's race is scheduled for 11:00 AM (ET), followed by the men's race at Noon (ET).
