CHICAGO – Both University of Chicago cross country teams and 10 total individuals received All-Academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
A total of 384 squads (212 women, 172 men) earned NCAA Division III All-Academic honors. The Maroon women posted a 3.59 team GPA while the men recorded a 3.55 overall GPA.
On the individual side, All-Academic recipients must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. UChicago's women were represented on the list by senior Maggie Boudreau, senior Claire Brockway, junior Sophie Elgamal, junior Zoe Smith, first-year Leah Ulrich and sophomore Kaitlyn Van Baalen. The Maroon men on the list included sophomore Sam Craig, junior Ryan Cutter, senior Gavin Fujimori and junior Chase Gardner.
