ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The top ranked University of Chicago women's cross-country team hit the course for the first time this month at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, a meet that saw them go up against 41 other teams from the Midwest. The Maroons went to work and did what they had already done three times this season by grabbing another team win heading into the UAA Championships.

TOP RUNNER
The Maroons placed all five of their scoring runners within the top 15 and were led by
Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel's first place individual finish. The senior crossed the line in a time of 21:24.7, three seconds quicker than the second-place finisher from UW-Eau Claire. The win was Battleson-Gunkel's second of the season and she's finished no lower than seventh in four races.

The Maroons will now gear up for the UAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 28
th. They'll travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the meet which will begin at 11:00 am.
