Assistant Masters Swimming Coach
Description
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for on-deck coaching for a select number of workouts per week, writing workouts and light record keeping, and administrative duties as assigned by Head Masters Coach. Applicant must be able to clearly articulate stroke technique, training technique, and do it in an effective manner for a wide range of ability levels. Applicant must be comfortable working with a wide range of ages, from undergraduates to older faculty, staff, and alumni.
Qualifications
Applicant must have an extensive swimming background. This background must be in competitive swimming. Previous coaching experience is a plus. Working with adult swimmers is also a plus.
Hours & Compensation
Varies, 3 to 6 per week
$16.60 per hour

Lifeguard
Description

Swimming Lessons Instructor
Duties
The Swimming Instructor will be responsible for teaching basic swimming technique to children and adults of various ability levels at swim school. Applicant must be comfortable working with children with a wide range of ages, from 3 to 15, as well as adults.
Qualifications
Applicant must have previous swimming lessons/coaching experience with children and/or adults. An American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is a plus but not a requirement. (CPR/AED/First Aid). Applicants must also complete mandated reporter training and a background check.

Fitness Center Attendant

Description
Work study students encouraged to apply. The primary role of the Fitness Center Attendant (FCA) is to maintain the organization of the various fitness centers. Specific responsibilities include re-racking weights, medicine balls, kettle bells, etc., cleaning auxiliary equipment, and refilling paper towels and disinfectant solution. A specific checklist is provided for each shift worked and the Fitness Center Attendant is expected to complete the tasks on the checklist during that shift. The Fitness Center Attendant is asked to point out broken equipment, safety issues, and patrons who are not adhering to the fitness center policies to the Manager on Duty.

Description

Sports Information Game-Day Operations
Description
Game-day operation duties include scorekeeping or scoreboard operation, public address announcing, statistics compilation, broadcast producing, and distribution of post-game results to print and broadcast media. The video producer works in concert with the camera operators to execute and broadcast the live feed onto official UChicago Athletics video channels/platforms. The video producer monitors the feed, inserts graphics and cuts in-game highlights.

Student-First Responder (SFR) Position
Description
Assists certified athletic trainers in preparation and managing of games and practices for varsity teams. Includes tasks such as setting up emergency equipment, water, and other necessary gear for football practices/games, swim and dive meets, and track and field meets. Students also assist in the daily maintenance of the athletic training room, as directed.
Qualifications
Holds current CPR/AED certification and/or is eligible to obtain CPR/AED certification. Often requires lifting/moving loads of 25lbs and greater and driving a motorized vehicle.
