ST. LOUIS, Mo. – University of Chicago swim and dive headed to St. Louis to take on UAA rival Washington University in a solo dual meet. The Maroons won a combined 24 events and took home both team victories as they prepare to host another big competition next weekend.
TEAM RESULTS
Men vs. Washington University (Mo.) – WIN 166-122
Women vs. Washington University (Mo.) – WIN 202-98
MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- The men of the Maroons came away with another victory on Saturday, outpacing WashU with 10 event wins and a 166-122 team victory.
- Cooper Costello swept the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events while Garrett Clasen continues to be in fine form with three wins overall. The men's 200 medley relay stole the show though as the team of Hudson Tritter, Clasen, Jerry Zhou, and Jonathan Tang broke the pool record in the event.
- Spencer Dearman improved his score in the one-meter dive by over ten points on his way to an NCAA provisional mark while he also won the three-meter diving event in back to back weekends.
UCHICAGO MEN'S WINNERS
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- The women dominated in the pool against WashU on Saturday, winning 14 total events and beating the Bears by 104 points.
- The Maroons had several individual event multi-winners in the pool including Lauren Richards (500 and 1,000-yard freestyle), Bridget Ye (100-yard breaststroke, 400-yard IM), and Alesha Kelly (100 and 200-yard butterfly). Ye won her 100-yard breaststroke event by just .05 seconds and freshman Sophia Zhao was the winner of the 50-yard freestyle with a razor thin margin of .01 seconds.
- Veronica Fong went undefeated in the diving events for the second weekend in a row and improved her season mark in the three-meter dive by scoring 261.3. Fong and Lilia Atanda also earned NCAA provisional scores in the one-meter dive for the second time this season.

UChicago will host the D3 Shootout inside the Ratner Athletic Center while also heading to the Kalamazoo Quad Meet on Friday and Saturday of next weekend.
