HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio – Heading into the UAA Championships ranked first in the country, University of Chicago women's cross country looked to claim the UAA title for the second straight season. The Maroons placed all five scoring runners within the top 15 but it wasn't enough, forcing them to settle for a second place result.

Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel crossed the line first for the Maroons and second overall, finishing five seconds back of the winner from NYU. Battleson-Gunkel turned in an average pace of 5:48.6 per mile, earning the senior her fourth top two result of the season.

The Maroons will have to wait two weeks to see if they can get back on top as the NCAA Midwest Regionals will take place on Saturday, November 11
