CARLISLE, Pa. – With both the men's and women's squads qualifying for the national championship race, it was time for the Maroons to show what they could do on the cross country course. While the men didn't have their best day on the circuit, the women once again proved why they are one of the best teams in the nation with a third-place overall finish and three NCAA All-Americans.

TOP RUNNERS
The men didn't have their best race day on Saturday, but they were still deemed a top team in the nation just by earning an at-large bid to participate in the race. Highlighting the squad's efforts was graduate student
Jack Begley who finished just outside All-American status. Begley crossed the line in 67
thplace with a time of 25:29.9.
The Maroon women were among the top runners all morning and within title contention at each checkpoint of the race. However, it didn't become clear until more runners crossed the finish line that UChicago secured their second top three finish in as many years and ended the meet just five points from winning the national championship. At the front for the Maroons was senior
Maddie Kelly who placed seventh overall with a time of 21:17.4 and earned the title of NCAA All-American. Joining her as the best in the country at the D-III level this year were fellow All-Americans senior
Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel (13
th place) and junior
Elisabeth Camic (19
th place).
