NOTRE DAME, Ind. – No. 2 University of Chicago women's tennis was back in action for the first time since returning from Texas and made the short trek to Indiana to take on Holy Cross College. The Maroons had no issues against the Saints and cruised to their fourth shutout victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• University of Chicago (10-1) easily took all three points in singles play. The Maroons allowed Holy Cross College to secure two points or less in each of the matches to grab the 1-0 advantage heading into singles.
  • Oliwia Mikos/Rena Lin defeat Carvalho-Landell/Martinez 6-2
  • Sylwia Mikos/Shianna Guo defeat Sanchez/Savides 6-1
  • Nika Vesely/Lauren Khou defeat Maillotte/Vanderhyde 6-2
• The only issue the Maroons had was in the fourth spot, but Oliwia Mikos made sure it wasn't an issue with a comeback to win in a third set tiebreak. Outside of that, UChicago only had two sets with a score of more than 6-2 as they swept HCC to win 7-0.

  • Rena Lin defeats Martinez 6-2, 6-2
  • Oliwia Mikos defeats Carvalho-Landell 6-7, 6-0, 10-7

  • Brooke Pedersen defeats Beer 6-1, 6-2
