WHITEWATER, Wis. – A top seed in the NCAA tournament but beginning their journey on the road, No. 3 University of Chicago women's tennis officially began the postseason with a match against Hope. The Maroons made sure that the Flying Dutch didn't get off the ground and shutout their opponent to breeze into the third round.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 3 University of Chicago stated off their match against Hope by sending a message with dominating performances across the board in pairs action. They started off with a clean win in the second slot before two more minimal point victories followed with scores of 8-1 and 8-2 to go up by three in the match against the Flying Dutch.
- Needing just two points, the Maroons took care of things out of the four and five spots in the lineup. Guo put up back-to-back 6-0 blankings to earn the fourth point of the match for UChicago while Biria finished things off with dual 6-1 victories to secure the shutout win.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will take on familiar foe No. 13 Case Western Reserve tomorrow morning for a chance to move on to the next round of play in St. Louis. Game time from Whitewater, Wis. is slated for 9:30 am.
