TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The University of Chicago men's and women's cross-country teams ran their second race in two days as they hit the road to the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University. Facing some of the top ranked DIII teams and members of all NCAA divisions, the Maroons held their own.

Men – 11
th out of 27 teams (304 total points)
Women- 2
nd out of 23 teams (90 total points)
TOP RUNNERS
Evelyn Battleson-Gunkel took the top spot in the Women's Open division by almost a staggering 30 seconds. In the overall race with all divisions, she finished fourth with a time of 21:07.0, only a few seconds behind the top finisher from the University of Michigan.
Sanju Patel led the men's team coming in at 25:33 for 49
th place as
John List followed closely behind for a 51
st place finish.

The Maroons will now prepare for the D-III Pre-Nationals Meet also taking place in Terre Haute, Ind. Both men and women will compete on Oct. 4, with the women's race starting the action off at 6:30 pm.
