RESULTS
CHICAGO -- The fourth-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming and diving team picked up its second and third dual meet wins of the season on Saturday as they took down Illinois Tech and Wheaton (IL) in the tri-meet. UChicago beat Illinois Tech 214-69, and the Maroons took down Wheaton (IL) 226-63.
The Maroons recorded 25 top-two finishes in the meet with 15 event wins en route to the dual meet victories.
John Butler led UChicago with four event wins during the meet. Butler won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, and he added relay victories in both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.
Ethan Taylor added three event wins for UChicago in his second career meet. Taylor swept the breaststroke event titles with times of 57.09 and 2:05.45 in the 100-yard and 200-yard events, and he led the 200 Medley Relay team to an event win as well.
Danyal Ghadiali swept the diving event titles for the Maroons with a score of 246.35 in the 1-meter event and a score of 271.90 in the 3-meter event.
Misha Kojanov and
Christopher Mo rounded out the athletes who won multiple individual events as Kojanov swept the backstroke events and Mo won the 200 and 500 Freestyle.
With the win, the Maroons improve to 3-0 on the season and extend their dual meet win streak against non-Division I programs to 31 straight meets, dating back to 2019. The team returns to action on Saturday, November 1, as they travel to St. Louis to battle WashU in one of their two meets away from home this season.
