RESULTS
CHICAGO -- The eighth-ranked University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team took down Illinois Tech and Wheaton (IL) on Saturday afternoon to improve to 3-0 on the opening weekend. UChicago defeated Wheaton 183-107, and the team took down Illinois Tech 205-70 on the day.
The Maroons won 11 events and brought home 23 top-two finishes in the meet.
Adelia Biello led UChicago with three event wins during the meet. Biello swept the 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle events, and she helped lead the 400 Freestyle relay team to a relay title in the final event of the day.
Sumiye Allen swept the diving event titles for the Maroons with a score of 250.90 in the 1-meter event and a score of 240.65 in the 3-meter event.
Sophia Xu was the lone other individual to record multiple event wins on the day for the Maroons. Xu won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 58.65, and she teamed up with Biello to win the 400 Freestyle Relay to cap off the day.
With the win, the Maroons improve to 3-0 on the season. The team returns to action on Saturday, November 1, as they travel to St. Louis to battle WashU in one of their two meets away from home this season.
