CHICAGO -- The 2nd-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming and diving team returns to their home pool on Friday afternoon as the Maroons host the Phoenix Fall Classic for their midseason meet. Prelims will begin at 10 AM CT on all three days with the Finals session at 5:30 PM CT on Friday and Saturday and 5 on Sunday. Diving will take place at 1 PM CT on both Saturday and Sunday.

#2 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* #2 UChicago enters the weekend with a 4-0 record in dual meets after taking down #10 WashU, #25 Lewis (DII), Illinois Tech, and Wheaton (IL) in the opening weekend.
* The Maroons also won the D3 Shootout in their last meet, taking down #10 WashU, #14 Hope, #19 Pomona-Pitzer, and #20 Swarthmore.
* UChicago won four individual National Championships, broke two NCAA records and nine school records, and earned 15 All-America awards en route to a third-place finish at the National Championship meet.
* The four National Championships for the Maroons are the most in UChicago program history, and the third-place finish is their third-consecutive top-3 finish.
* John Butler was named the UAA Men's Swimmer of the Week after the opening week of the season. Butler has won 17 of his 18 events that he has swam in this season.
* Danyal Ghadiali has won five of the eight diving events in the opening four meets of the year with top scores of 246.35 in 1-meter diving and 271.90 in 3-meter diving.
* Freshman Ethan Taylor has been the top newcomer for UChicago with eight first-place finishes in the opening three meets.
* Cooper Costello has dominated the past two meets with first-place finishes in all 10 of his races.
* The Maroons swept the National Championship in all three Freestyle Relay events last season. Prior to 2025, UChicago had won just two relay National Championships in program history.
* After hosting the Phoenix Fall Classic, the Maroons will break for the holidays before returning to the Myers-McLoraine Pool on January 10 against Northwestern.
