CHICAGO -- The fourth-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming and diving team brought home its fifth consecutive D3 Shootout title on Saturday afternoon with a dominating performance to win the title by over 80 points.

The Maroons opened the D3 Shootout strong with wins in 13 of the 20 events and first-place finishes in each of the five of the six relays on the day. The team also broke nine meet records and tallied 13 B Cut times in the meet.

John Butler provided the highlight of the meet for the Maroons with a pool record time of 43.72 in the 100 Freestyle. His time also breaks the meet record and qualifies as a B Cut time, and he narrowly missed the school record by just 0.13 seconds. In addition to Butler's 100 Free title, he won the 50 Free and all four relays to finish with six event titles in all six of his events.

Cooper Costello led the Maroons with three individual event titles as the junior won the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, and 200 IM with three B Cut times and a pair of meet records in the butterfly events. Costello also won all three of his relay events to join Butler with six event titles in all six of his events.

Misha Kojanov, Alex Schwartz, and Ethan Taylor added the remaining three individual event titles in the meet for the Maroons. Kojanov won the 200 Free with a meet record and B Cut time of 1:38.50. Taylor won the 200 Breast with a meet record and B Cut time of 2:00.45. Schwartz won the 400 IM with a B Cut time of 3:57.71.

Following the first-place finish, Maroons will return to the pool for their midseason meet with the Phoenix Fall Classic at the Myers-McLoraine Pool from November 21-23.
