ANGOLA, Ind. -- The University of Chicago wrestling team brought home a pair of titles and nine placement results this weekend at the Trine Invitational.

Sean Conway led the Maroons with a perfect 4-0 record in the 141-pound weight class to win the title. Conway earned a tech-fall win in the opening round and added a pin in the second period of the second round to reach the semifinals. He then added his second pin of the day in the semifinals before adding a 17-7 major decision win in the championship match. With his first win of the day, Conway also became just the second UChicago wrestler to reach 100 career wins in the past 12 seasons.

Maksim Mukhamedaliyev joined Conway with a weight class title after a perfect 5-0 day. The freshman opened the day with an 18-3 tech fall and an 8-0 major decision victory. Then, in the quarterfinals, Mukhamedaliyev recorded a pin in just 41 seconds to reach the semifinals. He then added a pair of tech fall wins with a 20-4 victory in the semifinals and a 17-2 win in the first period of the championship.

Jackson Davis also reached the championship match on Saturday with a 4-1 record on the day. After a tough opening round match that ended in an 8-3 victory, Davis added an 18-2 tech fall and a first-period pin to reach the semifinals. He then added a 10-0 major decision win before ultimately falling to a wrestler from UW-Stevens Point in the finals.
