CHICAGO -- The gun fires on the University of Chicago men's track and field season on Friday afternoon as the Maroons travel just South of campus to Chicago State for the Cougar Alumni Classic.

UCHICAGO MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD NOTES:
* The University of Chicago men's track and field team returns to action on Friday after a successful 2025 season.
* The Maroons won their first UAA Indoor Championship title since 2008 and just the third UAA Indoor title in program history during the indoor season in 2025.
* UChicago capped off the 2025 season ranked 7th in the Midwest Region and 2nd in the UAA by the USTFCCCA.
* The Maroons return 6 athletes ranked in the top-2 of the UAA, 7 athletes ranked in the top-10 of the Midwest Region, and 8 athletes ranked in the top-30 of the NCAA Division III.

Imran Serifovic was the lone National Qualifier in 2025 for the Maroons after he was ranked 3rd in NCAA Division III, 2nd in the Midwest Region, and 1st in the UAA in the High Jump with a mark of 2.12 meters.

Aryan Shrivastava was ranked 22nd in NCAA Division III, 4th in the Midwest Region, and 2nd in the UAA in the High Jump with a mark of 2.04 meters.
* Shrivastava was also ranked 22nd in NCAA Division III, 6th in the Midwest Region, and 1st in the UAA in the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.33 meters.

Simon Dixon was ranked 24th in NCAA Division III, 9th in the Midwest Region, and 1st in the UAA in the Shot Put with a mark of 16.29 meters.
* Dixon was also ranked 29th in NCAA Division III, 9th in the Midwest Region, and 1st in the UAA in the Weight Throw with a mark of 18.15 meters.

Oluwaseyi Kadiri was ranked 27th in NCAA Division III, 7th in the Midwest Region, and 3rd in the UAA in the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.30 meters.

Quint Stein was ranked 10th in the Midwest Region in the 800m Run with a time of 1:54.88.

Nathaniel Stuit was ranked 3rd in the UAA in the 400m Dash with a time of 50.36.
*
John Lui was ranked 4th in the UAA in the 60m Dash with a time of 6.95.
* After competing in the Cougar Alumni Classic this weekend, the Maroons will break for the holidays before hosting the Phoenix Invite at Henry Crown Fieldhouse on January 10.
