#1 Men's Tennis Takes Down DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Hitting the road to Indiana, the No.1 Maroons gave an impressive performance against the Tigers, dominating both in doubles and singles play.

Doubles:
Derek Hsieh and Emil Grantcharov, along with Andrei Leonov and Pat Otero, got off to a strong start. They broke serve early and won their doubles matches decisively, with Derek and Emil taking theirs 6-2 and Andrei and Pat finishing 6-1. After securing the doubles point, Jacob Lowen and Jack Wong fought hard but fell to the Tigers 6-3.

Singles:
The Maroons continued their strong play in singles, winning all six matches without dropping a set. Jack Wong was the first to finish, dominating his opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 victory to give the Maroons a 2-0 lead. Derek Hsieh followed up with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the #2 position. Senior Pat Otero kept the momentum going with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #5, putting the Maroons up 4-0. Michael Choi cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win, and sophomore Ajer Sher won 6-0, 7-5, pushing the lead to 6-0. The final match saw junior Emil Grantcharov outlast his opponent 6-4, 7-5 in the #1 spot.

With a clean sweep in singles and doubles, the Maroons now look ahead to their next matches, starting with an exhibition against Holy Cross (IN) and then hosting Carthage College at XS Tennis Center next weekend.
