CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team takes a trip to Texas this week for their annual spring trip. The Maroons will take on #21 Bowdoin and #10 Trinity (TX) in San Antonio as well as Southwestern (TX) and #14 Tufts in Austin throughout the week.

#1 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* UChicago enters the week with a 9-1 record overall this season.
* The Maroons are coming off an ITA Indoor Nationals title two weeks ago as they took down #18 Sewanee (7-0), #5 Emory (5-2), and #2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (4-1) during the tournament.
* Following this week, UChicago will return to their home courts for their first outdoor home match of the season. The Maroons will host the UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs at 3 PM CT on Tuesday afternoon.

OPPONENT NOTES:

#21 Bowdoin
* Bowdoin enters the season at 5-2 overall with wins over Trinity (CT), WashU, and Southwestern (TX) in their last four games.
* The Polar Bears fell to Trinity (TX) on Sunday 4-3 in just their second loss of the season.
* Zoe Sun and Jamilah Karah lead the team with a 3-1 record overall in singles play. Sun also leads the team with 3 doubles wins.
Southwestern (TX)
* Southwestern (TX) comes in at 5-5 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.
* The Pirates have lost three of their last four matches to Gustavus Adolphus, Bowdoin, and Skidmore with their lone win coming over Hendrix.
* Lydia Lee leads the team with both five singles wins and five doubles wins this season.
#10 Trinity (TX)
* Trinity (TX) sits at 14-1 on the season, and the Tigers are 10-0 since February 8 with wins over six ranked teams in that span.
* The Tigers have taken down #7 Johns Hopkins, #12 MIT, #17 Christopher Newport, #21 Bowdoin, and #23 Gustavus Adolphus so far this season.
* Trinity Levy leads the team with 13 singles wins on the season with just one defeat. Ruth Hill has also been lights out in doubles play with a team-best 10-1 record overall.
#14 Tufts
* Tufts comes into the season unbeaten with a 7-0 record overall.
* The Jumbos have picked up wins over #12 MIT and #16 Williams as well as DI opponent Bryant in their past four matches.
* Melanie Woodbury leads the team with 9 singles wins and 6 doubles wins on the year.

SERIES HISTORY:

* UChicago defeated Bowdoin 5-4 in their lone meeting in the program's history back in 2018.
* The Maroons are undefeated all-time against Southwestern (TX) with a 3-0 all-time record. The two teams have meet on the UChicago spring break trip in each of the last three seasons with 7-2, 8-1, and 6-3 wins for the Maroons.
* UChicago is 5-0 all-time against Trinity (TX) including a 9-0 victory last season.
* The Maroons will be looking for their first-ever win over Tufts as they come in with an 0-3 record all-time. The Maroons fell 6-3 in 2017, 8-1 in 2016, and 5-4 in 2011.
