KENOSHA, Wis. -- The University of Chicago men's track and field team had four student-athletes cap off their regular season at the Firebird Finale at Carthage College on Friday afternoon. The Maroons brought home a trio of first-place finishes in the competitive last chance qualifier.
Simon Dixon won the Shot Put with a mark of 51' 11.25", taking down the top North Central thrower by four inches. He also added a third-place finish in the Weight Throw with a mark of 56' 11.25".
William Floyd continued the winning ways for UChicago with a first-place finish in the Pole Vault with a mark of 14' 9.5", just two inches off his season-best mark of 14' 11.5".
Aryan Shrivastava added the final first-place finish in the meet with a mark of 6' 4" in the High Jump on Friday afternoon. Shrivastava also competed in the Triple Jump where he added a sixth-place finish.
Following this meet, four runners will cap off their season on Saturday afternoon at the Wartburg Final Qualifier. The final qualifiers for the men's track and field Indoor National Championships will be announced by the NCAA on Sunday, March 9.
