CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago softball team will host No. 18 Emory for another conference series this weekend. With games starting on Friday at 3 p.m., the Maroons look to bounce back from a loss at Carnegie Mellon last weekend. 

UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* The Maroons come into the series with a 12-12 record on the year. 
* Paige Heffke has been huge for the Maroons on the mound. In 98 innings pitched, the senior has collected 77 strikeouts. 
* This season, Heffke leads the team with 8 wins and a 2.50 ERA. 
* Matilda Nelson has the top batting average for the Maroons at .358 with a team-high 24 hits. The sophomore has collected an impressive five home runs and five doubles to her name. 
* Sedona Ding is another player to watch for UChicago. The freshman has put on an impressive start to her collegiate career, starting and playing in all 24 games so far. In 67 at bats, she's recorded 20 hits, a double, one RBI and 21 runs. 
* Alana Kimball has also been another solid pitcher for Chicago. In 39 inning pitched, she's collected 11 strikeouts while only allowing 49 hits.
* Laila Sims recorded her 73 stolen base in Chicago's win over North Park. She now holds the All-Time Career Record in UChicago softball history. 
* UChicago's games on Friday will be their Mental Health Awareness Game, as Saturday the team will be hosting their Pride games. 

#18 EMORY NOTES:

* Emory enters the Top 25 poll this week at the #18 spot with a 23-4 record. 
* After a series loss last weekend versus Case Western, the Eagles are on the lookout for another conference win. 
* Junior Ashley Chu leads Emory with a .443 batting average through the 27 games. In 97 at bats she has collected 43 hits, 12 RBIs, and 33 runs. 
* Sophomore Ellie Zerr leads the Eagles in RBIs with 33 and an on base percentage 44.0%. 
* On the pitching side, Mackenzie Duford comes in with a 1.46 ERA. In 67.1 innings she's struckout 45. 
* Following their games at UChicago, the Eagles will head to Georgia to face Piedmont University.

* This will be the first time UChicago and Emory will matchup.
