CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team is set to play two more matches as the 2024-25 regular season winds down. The Maroons will host Purdue Northwest for a scrimmage on Saturday in their first home match on Stagg Tennis Courts this season. Then, the team will travel to Madison, Wisconsin to battle #34 Gustavus Adolphus in a neutral site match at the University of Wisconsin.

#4 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* UChicago comes in with a 14-2 record overall this season.
* The Maroons capped off their spring trip with a 3-1 record overall. They tallied wins over #32 Chapman, #29 Pomona-Pitzer, and #14 Johns Hopkins. Their lone loss came in the Stag-Hen Open Championship match with a 4-3 defeat to #1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
* The match against Gustavus Adolphus will mark the eleventh consecutive official match against a ranked opponent.
* Each of the past eight wins for UChicago have come against top-35 teams including #5 Denison, #14 Johns Hopkins (twice), #16 Gustavus Adolphus, #22 Carnegie Mellon, #27 Washington and Lee, #29 Pomona-Pitzer, and #32 Chapman.
* Following this weekend, the Maroons will return to their home courts to take on #24 WashU and Grinnell on April 12 and 13.

PURDUE NORTHWEST NOTES:

* Purdue Northwest enters the match at 14-5 overall this season.
* The Pride are coming off a 5-2 win over Michigan Tech on Saturday to snap a two-match GLIAC losing streak against Grand Valley State and Lake Superior State.
* Samuel Dickson and Alex Miguel van Lumich Lozano lead the team with 10 singles wins on the season.
* Dickson and Daniel Chicano i Melero lead the team with 12 and 10 singles wins so far this year.
* After battling the University of Chicago, the Pride will host Ferris State and Wayne State next weekend in their final two matches of the season.

#34 GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS NOTES:

* Gustavus Adolphus comes in ranked #34 in NCAA Division III this season with an 11-9 record.
* The Gusties are unbeaten in MIAC play at 5-0.
* Gustavus Adolphus plays a pair of ranked non-conference matches this season against #18 UW-Whitewater and #4 UChicago.
* Gage Gohl and Dominik Knutson lead the team with a combined 27-11 record in singles play.
* In doubles play, Marco Siviero leads the team with a 14-9 record overall this season.
* Following this weekend, the Gusties will play a trio of matches against Augustana (SD), St. John's (MN), and Bethany Lutheran next season.

SERIES HISTORY:

* This will be just the second time that the University of Chicago has played Purdue Northwest.
* The Maroons took down the Pride 9-0 last season.
* The University of Chicago leads the all-time series 14-6 over the Gusties.
* The Maroons beat Gustavus Adolphus 5-2 in the opening round of ITA Indoor Nationals earlier this season.
* UChicago has won eight of the last nine matches between the two teams since 2019.
