CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team continued their back-to-back titles run on Saturday with a 4-1 win over #21 Gustavus Adolphus to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
The Gusties set the tone in the match in doubles as they took the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead. After
Lauren Khou and
Clara Zou won 6-1 at #3 doubles, Gustavus Adolphus was able to win the top two matches to clinch the point.
In singles play, it was all UChicago as the Maroons stepped on the gas pedal and cruised to the win.
Sarena Biria leveled the score with a 6-2, 6-1 at the #3 singles position, and
Oliwia Mikos quickly put the Maroons in front with a 6-1, 6-3 win at #5 singles.
Moments later,

Sylwia Mikos fought off her opponent to win a tough first set before rolling to the 6-4, 6-0 win.
Clara Zou was one game away from winning her match with a 6-1, 5-3 lead at #4 singles before the match was decided.
Nicole Geller dropped her opening set 6-7(4-7) in a hard-fought battle between the two players.
With the win, the Maroons improve to 22-1 on the season and extend their winning streak to 33 consecutive wins over Division III opponents. UChicago will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals where they will play the winner of the WashU Regional on May 20 in Claremont, California.
