Sylwia Mikos Earns 3rd-Team CSC Academic All-American Honors

AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Chicago senior Sylwia Mikos has been named a 3rd-Team CSC Academic All-American, as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday morning.

Sylwia Mikos entered the National Championships ranked as the #14 singles player and as a part of the #3 doubles team in NCAA Division III this season, and she was one of only 15 players in the country to qualify for the DIII Individual National Championships in both singles and doubles.

The senior from Willowbrook, Illinois earned 1st-Team All-UAA honors in both singles and doubles as she compiled a 12-4 singles record and a 19-5 doubles record against Division III opponents this season.

During the fall season, the economics major won the ITA Central Region Doubles Championship and qualified for the ITA Cup competition. She also reached the semifinals of the ITA Central Region singles competition before withdrawing with an injury.

During her career, Sylwia is an 8-time All-American who finished as the national runner-up in the Individual Singles Championship last season, falling to her teammate in the final match. She has also competed in the National Doubles Tournament for all four years, reaching the semifinals in 2022 for her best-career finish. Regionally, Mikos was a 3-time Central Region Singles Champion and a 3-time Central Region Doubles Champion, and she also won two ITA Cup Singles Championships and reached the semifinals of the ITA Cup Doubles Tournament in three of her four years.

Mikos is the sixth Academic All-American in program history and the fifth in the past three seasons as helps extend the University of Chicago streak to 10 consecutive calendar years and 14 of the past 15 calendar years with an Academic All-American, dating back to 2011. She is also the sixth Academic All-American in 2025 for the Maroons, joining two women's swimmers and three men's swimmers.
