ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's cross country team opened their season on Friday Night with a first-place finish at the Lewis Early Bird Invitational.
The 3rd-ranked Maroons capped off the meet with 10 of the top-12 finishers as they rolled to the meet win with just 19 total points.
Estelle Snider brought home a first-place finish in the season opener by over 20 seconds with a time of 14:25.30 in the 4K race.
A pair of freshmen
Katja Dunayevich and
Vivan Kelly added top-4 finishes in their collegiate debut with Dunayevich finishing third with a time of 14:48.67 and Kelly finishing fourth with a time of 14:51.00.
Sylvia Snider,
Rose Wiltse,
Olivia Resnick, and
Emma Kelly rounded out the top-10 in the race for the Maroons.
Following this meet win, UChicago will take a week off before they travel to Wheaton (IL) for the Gil Dodds Invitational on September 20 at 10 AM CT.
