CHICAGO -- The sixth-ranked University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team took home the 176-124 win over Calvin in Saturday afternoon's Senior Day meet. The Maroons brought home seven first-place finishes and 11 second-place finishes in the meet.
Lilia Atanda and
Veronica Fong swept the diving awards for the Maroons in the 1- and 3-meter events. Fong earned the win in the 3-meter with a score of 275.50. Atanda picked up her third win of the weekend with a score of 263.48 in the 1-meter. Both Atanda and Fong earned B cuts in the 3-meter competition, and
Sumiye Allen joined Atanda, earning B cut scores in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Adelia Biello led the Maroons with a pair of wins in the 100 Free with a time of 53.62 and the 200 Free with a time of 1:55.24.
The Maroons' freshman continued to show out as
Emma Osborne and
Alexandra Milisavljevic joined Biello in the winner's circle. Osborne earned first in the 1000 Freestyle, recording a time of 10:47.67, and Milisavljevic won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 58.80.
NouNou Chang,
Sophia Lee, and
Naomi Ong rounded out the event wins for the Maroons. Chang won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:10.02, Lee won the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.59, and Ong won the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:10.63.
With the win, the Maroons improve at 5-2 on the season. UChicago will return to the pool on January 31 as the team travels to Michigan for their final dual meet of the season against #10 Hope.
