CHICAGO -- The 13th-ranked University of Chicago men's wrestling team will travel to Wheaton for the Pete Willson Invitational for a two-day meet featuring some of the top competition from across the entire country.

#13 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* The 13th-ranked University of Chicago wrestling team enters the weekend at 9-4 in dual meets on the season.
* The Maroons have won four duals against top-15 opponents this season, including #8 Johnson & Wales (RI), #13 Wabash, and #13 UW-Whitewater.
* UChicago placed tenth in the NWCA National Duals with a 3-3 record overall.
* Gunnar Garriques and Sean Conway enter the weekend as the top UChicago wrestlers with records of 9-1 and 25-4 on the season. The seniors are both ranked #8 in the country. Garriques sits at the #1 spot in the region at 197, and Conway is ranked #2 in the region at 141.
* Freshman Maksim Mukhamedaliyev (149) is ranked #12 in the nation and #2 in Region V. Mukhamedaliyev is a 3-time UAA Athlete of the Week, including back-to-back honors, with a record of 30-4 on the season. The freshman leads the team with 30 wins, 8 of which have come from falls.
* Jackson Rustad (133) and Matthew Barlay (125) each sit in the national rankings at the #14 and #15 spots, and the duo are both ranked #2 in Region V. Rustad has compiled a record of 16-5, and Barlay has added an 18-4 record on the season.
* Jackson Davis (184) is ranked as the top wrestler in Region V with a record of 25-7 with 10 pins on the season.
* Sophomore Nicholas Cheshier (165), Hutch Lynott (174), and Teddy Perry (285) round out the ranked wrestlers for the Maroons. Cheshier is ranked #6 with a record of 8-9, Lynott is ranked #7 with a record of 13-15, and Perry is ranked #7 with a record of 19-15.
* Following the busy weekend for UChicago, the Maroons will travel to Dubuque, Iowa for the team's final UAA Championship tune-up on Saturday, February 7.
