The Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce that the Law School has been crowned 2024-2025 Phoenix Cup Champions!
The Phoenix Cup is awarded annually to the graduate program earning the most points in sanctioned intramural activities throughout the academic year (by way of participation and results).
The Law School brings home the Phoenix Cup for the 9th time in program history, their third consecutive title! Led by a dedicated group of students, The Law School bested their totals from the two years prior, earning an impressive 2,575 points through participation in 24 of the 33 IM activities offered and major team championships in Flag Football, Wallyball, Basketball, Outdoor Soccer, and the IM Track Meet.
Rounding out the top 5 finishers were Booth (955), Pritzker (745), PSD (310) and PME (265). The full Phoenix Cup Standings can be found attached to this email.
The Intramural Office would like to thank all the graduate programs that participated this year. We'd especially like to express our immense gratitude to the team captains and organizers whose hard work in promoting intramurals, organizing teams, and creating fun and comradery among their program members did not go unnoticed. This year 9 of the 12 graduate programs were represented in Intramurals and we look forward to 100% participation next year!
Intramural sports are a fun and social way to build community, socialize with others, and stay active. The Intramural Sports Program at the University of Chicago offers opportunities to participate in sports by providing an arena in which individuals can compete against one another in a safe, friendly environment. UChicago Intramurals offers more than 32 intramural sports each year.
Intramurals are open to current undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and resident heads.
