Jayvon Matthews enters his second year as the High Jumps Coach for the men's and women's track & field programs at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year.

Matthews began his coaching career with a one year stint as the high jump coach at Dunkerton High School where the athlete he coached broke the school record. 

As a collegiate student-athlete, Matthews competed at the University of Northern Iowa. During his career there he earned all Missouri Valley Conference honors.
