Cattau enters his 1st season as an assistant men's and women's track and field and cross country coach at the University of Chicago during the 2025-26 season.
Cattau is no stranger to the Maroons, having competed for UChicago from 2014-18. A versatile student-athlete, she qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in the 4x400-meter relay and the NCAA Outdoor National Championships in the heptathlon, where she placed ninth and 14th, respectively. Over her career, she collected six All-UAA honors across four different events.
Since graduating, Cattau has built a strong coaching resume across Division III programs. Most recently, she spent two seasons at Case Western Reserve University, where she guided the Spartans to top-5 team finishes in the UAA and several individual achievements. During her tenure, CWRU produced one All-American, two national qualifiers, three UAA champions, and 22 All-UAA honorees.
Before her time in Cleveland, Cattau coached at Pacific Lutheran University from 2021-23. There, she played a key role in reviving the Lutes' multi-event program while also contributing across sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis. Under her guidance, PLU earned an NCAA Indoor qualifier, two Northwest Conference Freshman of the Year honors, one NWC individual champion, and a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection.
A 2018 graduate of UChicago with a degree in Environmental Sciences, Cattau later earned her Master of Science at the University of Washington's School of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences in 2023.
