Erin Sexton enters her fourth year as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year.
Sexton previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Financial Affairs at DePaul University. She worked within DePaul's athletic administration from 2009 to 2022.
Sexton's primary responsibilities as Assistant Athletics Director included oversight of the budget and business-related functions for a plethora of areas, including media relations, ticket operations, athletics academic advising, marketing, men's and women's track & field and cross country, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's soccer, women's tennis, softball, spirit groups, camp accounts and NCAA grant funds. On the varsity team side, she developed budgets and planned expenditures for salary, equipment, uniforms, travel and recruiting.
Sexton was the primary administrative contact with travel agencies and vendors, helping arrange commercial and charter flights, local and away ground transportation, and lodging for both conference and non-conference travel for all teams. Additionally, she was the athletics liaison with DePaul's housing services who dealt with assigning on and off campus housing for student-athletes, along with meal plans. She was also a member of the DePaul University Title IX Hearing Board.
Sexton earned three diplomas from DePaul, beginning with her Bachelor's in physical education in 2007. She went on to receive her Master of Education and Master of Business Administration degrees as well. A native of Chicago, Sexton attended Saint Ignatius College Prep. Erin lives in the Bridgeport neighborhood with her husband Johnny and son Finbar.
