Omar El Kadi joined the UChicago tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach in January 2023.

In 2022-23, UChicago women's tennis (23-1 record) made a return to the NCAA Division III Championship final and took runner-up for the second-straight year. The Maroon women set new school records for wins in a season and consecutive wins. They repeated as ITA Indoor National Champions and picked up their second-straight UAA championship. Sylwia Mikos (singles/doubles), Shianna Guo (singles/doubles), Claudia Ng (doubles) and Perene Wang (doubles) each earned ITA All-American status. Mikos was also named the UAA Player of the Year. On the men's side, UChicago qualified for the postseason for the ninth time and advanced to the NCAA Round of 16.
