Daniel Jackson

Daniel Jackson enters his 2nd year as the Director of Intramurals and Recreational Sports at the University of Chicago in the 2026-27 academic year.

Jackson joined the department after serving as Sports Program Coordinator at Northern Arizona University. In that role, Jackson provided oversight for Intramural Sports, Special Events, and Facility Scheduling. He also collaborated with Special Olympics Arizona to organize Unified events, including the state's first Unified Intramural collaboration.

Jackson previously served as the Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In that role, he oversaw the department's intramural sports program while assisting with competitive sports operations. Jackson also worked with the software developers at Fusion on the development of Fusion Play, the company's intramural programming software. Additionally, he played a key role in the expansion of the university's Intramural Esports program by restructuring it to create a more competitive and social experience while developing new student staff positions to oversee its daily operations.

Jackson's experience within Campus Recreation at the University of Illinois also included positions in Competitive Sports, Facility Management, and Member Services.

A Chicago native, Jackson graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in Recreation, Sport and Tourism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
