Darien Booker enters his third year as the Assistant Track & Field Coach at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year.
Booker first started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at The University of Chicago during the 2023-2024, focusing on the sprints and hurdles squad. During the 2023-24 season, Booker helped coach athletes Gabriela Meschino and Ren Brown, both qualified and placed at Nationals, as well as others who were named All-Conference.
Booker competed as a collegiate student-athlete at North Park University. While at North Park, he was a two-year team captain of the track & field team, focusing on the multis and sprints. Booker helped set school records in both the 60-meter dash and 4x100 meter relay. In both his indoor and outdoor seasons he secured All-Academic honors while also serving as the SAAC representative for the track & field team.
Booker received his bachelor's degree in sociology and counseling psychology from North Park University in the spring of 2023. Currently, he is on his way to earn his master’s degree in social work with a concentration in school social work from The University of Chicago’s Crown Family School.
Booker is an Illinois native, growing up Rockford, Illinois. In his spare time, he is an intern for Evanston School District and is also a member of the United States Army Reserves.
