Nicole Kaupp enters her third year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development  at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year.

Within her position as Assistant Athletic Director, Kaupp will help provide programming for UChicago student-athletes with focuses on areas such as mental health, leadership, career development and community service. She will also maintain and build connections with campus partners and liaisons in an effort to provide resources to the department and student-athletes.

Kaupp originally joined UChicago's Department of Athletics & Recreation in June 2019 as the assistant swimming coach and assistant aquatics director. She has also served as advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

During her tenure with the swimming & diving programs, the Maroons experienced unprecedented success at the national level. The 2022-23 season saw two UChicago swimmers win NCAA individual national championships – Garrett Clasen (200-yard IM) and Alesha Kelly (200-yard Butterfly). The men's squad placed third overall in the team standings at the NCAAs – their highest placement ever – and the women took seventh. All told, 30 swimmers and divers earned 75 total All-American awards at the meet's conclusion. Since 2019, UChicago swimming & diving has won six NCAA individual event titles and 92 Maroons have accumulated 213 All-American awards. UChicago has also stood out at the conference level with three University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimmers of the Year, two UAA Rookies of the Year, three UAA Divers of the Year and three UAA Swim Coaching Staffs of the Year.

Prior to her arrival in Hyde Park, Kaupp served as the Head Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coach and Director of Aquatics at Luther College from 2016-19. Her coaching experience also includes tenures at Washington University – St. Louis and Southwestern University (Texas).

Kaupp graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a bachelor's degree in history.
