Tatiana Samuel

Tatiana Samuel enters his second year as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at the University of Chicago in the 2025-26 academic year.

Samuel has spent time as a collegiate assistant for the past five seasons at the University of the Cumberlands and Kenyon College. She also currently serves as a member of the IWLCA Equity & Inclusion Committee and a member of the inaugural cohort of the IWLCA Aspire Program.

While receiving her Master's in Business Adminstration and Master's in Health & Human Performance at the University of the Cumberlands, she began her coaching career with the Patriots where the team boasted a 42-4 record overall. She was also named the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year in the 2022 season. During her time at the University of the Cumberlands, Samuel coached 8 All-Americans, 3 Academic All-Americans, 3 MSC Players of the Year, and the 2022 NAIA Player of the Year.

Samuel spent two years as the Assistant Coach at Kenyon University with a main focus on the goalkeepers and the defenders. She helped lead the Owls to an undefeated regular season and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023. She was also named a member of the IWLCA Great Lakes Region Coaching Staff of the Year after the team was ranked #18 in the country and won the NCAC regular season title. Samuel coached nine All-Region players, one All-American, 16 All-NCAC honorees, and the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year in both seasons.

Samuel earned her Bachelor's degree in Management and Marketing at the University of Montevallo where she was a member of the inaugural women's lacrosse team in the school's history. During her time with the Falcons, Samuel tallied 3 goals and 3 assists as well as 128 ground balls and 56 caused turnovers. Her 40 and 47 ground balls in a single season rank top-6 in program history, and her 67 games played in her career are third all-time in program history, just two shy of the all-time record. She also ranks 3rd all-time in ground balls and caused turnovers.
