Box Score 2 CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team played its final home matches of the year on Saturday and ended up with a 3-1 win over Endicott College and a 3-1 loss to Elmhurst College.
The No. 13-ranked Maroons ran their record to 16-6, the No. 9-ranked Bluejays improved to 17-4, and the Gulls fell to 6-12.
In the first match of the day, Chicago defeated Endicott 3-1 (25-22, 25-9, 22-25, 25-10). The Maroons got a balanced effort on offense with 11 kills from Katie Huntington, 10 kills by Maren Loe and 10 kills from Morgan Barry. Loe rung up four blocks on defense. Setter Nikki DelZenero finished with 24 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Ragine Graves also saw time at setter with 21 assists and 10 digs. Libero Eirene Kim collected 25 digs.
In the second match versus Elmhurst, the Bluejays topped the Maroons for the second time this season by a 3-1 margin (25-27, 25-14, 25-19, 25-18). Loe led the attack with 10 kills and Caroline Brander scored nine kills. DelZenero put up 36 assists and 16 digs. Brander tallied four blocks in the middle, and Kim had 28 digs.
Next weekend, the Maroons will head out to Pittsburgh, Pa. for the second leg of the UAA Round Robin on Saturday and Sunday.
