WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team had its 10-match win streak broken by University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 6-3 on Saturday. UChicago's scheduled match against Carroll University was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The No. 30-ranked Maroons (11-2) had its longest undefeated run in more than 15 years leading up to the match. The No. 29-ranked Warhawks improved to 8-11.
Wisconsin-Whitewater won two of three doubles matches and then four of six singles contests. It marked the first time that the Maroons had lost more than two singles match-ups since Feb. 10.
UChicago's victories came from Deepak Sabada at No. 1 singles, Ankur Bhargava at No. 2 singles and the No. 3 doubles duo of Jake Crawford and Gordon Zhang. Sabada is currently on an eight-match win streak in singles.
