No. 6 Men's Tennis Defeats Cardinal Stritch

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – University of Chicago's sixth-ranked men's tennis team defeated Cardinal Stritch 5-2 on Friday.  

The Maroons secured the doubles point and won 4-of-6 singles matches for their second straight victory, which followed back-to-back defeats. Pat Otero and Jack Wong cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. Biren Reddy and Marek Michulka clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over their competition at No. 3 doubles.

Derek Hsieh held serve at No. 1 singles with a three-set victory by scores of 2-6, 6-3, 7-6. Emil Grantcharov won in the second singles slot in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Michulka and Otero, at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, rounded out the Maroon victors.

UChicago takes on No. 14 Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
