CHICAGO – University of Chicago's second-ranked men's soccer program was defeated by Hope College 1-0 on Friday evening.
Despite several chances offensively, the Maroons suffered their first defeat since the 2021 season on Friday evening, falling 1-0 to Hope.
UChicago racked up 34 shots, 13 on target, but a goal from Hope in the 24th minute proved to be the difference in the match. The Maroons were on the front foot for most of the contest, especially after going down, as five players accounted for at least four shots each.
The Maroons also had 12 corner kicks to Hope's zero.
