CHICAGO, IL-In the first UAA competition of the season the UChicago Maroons had a steady offensive showing against the visiting Yellowjackets of Rochester.

Maroons first goal came in 20' by first year forward,
Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey assisted by
Jack Leuker. Maroons kept the pressure up and scored their second goal in 30' by
Evan Kanellos via an assist from
Robbie Pino, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The defense stood strong, but the Yellowjackets snuck a single goal by senior goalie,
Will Boyes in minute 73'. Boyes had two saves in an otherwise quiet afternoon.

Play was physical throughout the 90 minutes but came to a head when midfielder
Lyndon Hu was tripped up in the box after he broke loose from multiple defenders. A PK was awarded to the junior and he sent a solid strike just left of the goalie in the 89
th minute of regulation.

Maroons grooved to a 3-1 victory.

UChicago will return to action on Wednesday, October 4th for an evening matchup against Carthage College at 7:00pm at Stagg Field.Â
