ATLANTA, Ga. – (RV) University of Chicago women's basketball wrapped up their last two game road trip of the UAA season on Sunday and was looking for the season sweep of Emory at the same time. The Maroons and Eagles went blow for blow in almost every quarter but a misstep in the second frame led to UChicago's 64-57 defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• (RV) University of Chicago (15-7, 8-3 UAA) played No. 19 Emory (17-5, 7-4 UAA) tight to begin the game and were only down by two heading into the second frame. Unfortunately, that frame was the only one in which the Maroons faltered in throughout the afternoon. The team shot 12.5 percent from the field and netted just nine points which gave the Eagles a 10 point lead at the half.
• UChicago rebounded nicely however and shaved two points off the Emory advantage in the third after hitting seven of their 14 shots. This brought the Maroon deficit down to eight with ten minutes left to play.
• Unfortunately, a comeback and sweep of the Eagles on the season wasn't meant to be. A Chicago run with 1:14 left to play got them back within five but Emory outscored the Maroons with six of the last ten points netted in the game to secure the seven-point victory over UC.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will wrap up their home slate for the 2023-24 regular season this weekend with two contests. They'll start with Brandeis on Friday beginning at 5:30 pm inside the Ratner Athletic Center.
