HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. No. 16 Trinity
- No. 2 University of Chicago (9-1) started off their trip to Texas with a battle against Trinity, the 16th ranked team in the country. The Maroons had absolutely no problems with their host and started off the day by taking all three doubles points.
- The sweep continued into singles action, though it wasn't always easy on their way to another six match points. While they took each duel, four of them had to be settled in a third set tiebreak on their way to a 9-0 win.
- vs. Southwestern
- The Maroons battle against Southwestern started off exactly the way it did against Trinity to begin their southern swing. UChicago easily grabbed all three pairs tallies and would hold an early 3-0 lead
- It was smooth sailing in the one through four spots for the Maroons as they won six out of the eight sets by the score of 6-0. The clean sweep was broken up during the last two solo matches but it wasn't nearly enough to prevent UChicago from registering their ninth win of the year.
