ST. LOUIS, Mo. – University of Chicago men's tennis took on their lone UAA regular season opponent on Saturday and went up against WashU in the Gateway City. The Maroons dominated doubles play before easily securing the 6-3 match win over the Bears with three tallies in solo action.

No. 8 WashU – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 3 University of Chicago (15-1) got off to a quick start and took all three points from No. 8 WashU (10-9) in doubles play. Otero and Leonov breezed by in their top spot match, and while Zhang/Hsieh and Asokumar/Wong had a little bit of a harder time, it wasn't anything they couldn't get past with respective scores of 8-5 and 8-4.
- Holding on to a 3-0 lead, the Maroons needed just one point for the match win. They got more than that with three of them in total. Hsieh completed his perfect weekend with a dominate 6-4, 6-1 win in the second slot while Asokumar earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory and Otero defeated his opponent in a third set tiebreak (6-2, 5-7, 7-5).
WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will have one more weekend of play before they take on the rest of the conference at the UAA Championships. Their two game match span will start with UW-Whitewater at home on Saturday, April 20
th starting at 12:00 pm.
