HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. No. 14 UW-Whitewater
- University of Chicago (17-1) faced their last ranked competition of the regular season on Saturday when they took on the No. 14 Warhawks of UW-Whitewater (16-3). The Maroons started off with three points after doubles play, though the pair of Wong and Asokumar had to battle to earn their third spot win in a tiebreak.
- While UWW did their best to try and get back into the contest with three set losses at number two and five during singles play, UChicago was able to come away with wins in all six matches to earn the 9-0 sweep.
- vs. Holy Cross College
- The Maroons switched things up and played best of seven against Holy Cross College (10-4) and earned the first point of the day by winning all three doubles matches on Sunday.
- The Saints had some fight in them during singles play but it wasn't nearly enough to put the outcome of the contest in doubt. While HCC took the first and fifth singles matches, the rest went the way of the Maroons in a 5-2 victory to close out their regular season with their 11th straight win.
