#5 Women's Tennis Wins Top Ten Battle Against #9 WashU

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – No. 5 University of Chicago women's tennis traveled west to take on WashU as they begin to put the finishing touches on the 2023-24 regular season. The Maroons had no problem winning the first of their three remaining matches before the UAA championships and dismissed the Bears by three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • No. 5 University of Chicago (13-1) was able to grab two points from No. 9 WashU (13-3) to begin doubles play in St. Louis. The team of Lin and the younger Mikos won in the top spot 8-5 before Vesely and Khou shutout their opponents in the third match via an 8-0 score.
  • There were numerous tight battles in singles play between the Maroons and Bears but UChicago was able to come away victorious in several of them. They grabbed points in the first three matches, including a three set win from the elder Mikos while Lin dominated with 6-1, 6-0 scores in the top singles competition.
WHO'S ON DECK
UChicago will take on two more competitors next weekend before gearing up for the UAA Championships in two weeks. First up will be Case Western Reserve on Friday, April 19th at the Stagg Tennis Courts starting at 3:00 pm.
