#2 Men's Tennis Opens UAA's With Shutout

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – University of Chicago men's tennis began their quest for another UAA crown on Thursday and took on Brandeis in the first round of the conference tournament. The Maroons had an easy go of it and won the match 5-0 after being handed two points before the contest even began.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Top seeded University of Chicago (17-1) made quick work out of eighth seeded Brandeis (1-14) and won in an efficient 5-0 shutout. The Maroons were handed wins by default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles to immediately grab two of the five points necessary to win the contest.
  • Two of the non-default wins came in doubles with the last one being a singles victory that sealed the deal and sent the Maroons to the semifinals.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will take on a fimilar foe in the semifinals. They'll meet up with fourth seeded WashU for the second time this month when play resumes at 12:30 pm eastern on Friday.
