ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – University of Chicago women's tennis entered the UAA tournament as the top seed and started their quest for the conference title on Friday. The Maroons had no problems mowing down the Yellowjackets and moved onto day two in the winners bracket with a 5-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Top seeded University of Chicago (16-1) got off to a quick start to begin the UAA Championships and earned three points right off the bat with a clean sweep of doubles play. All three matches were settled with scores of 8-3 or less and was highlighted by Guo and the elder Mikos' 8-0 win in the second slot.
- The Maroons wrapped up the match almost immediately once it headed into singles play. Needing just two points, Pedersen and Biria won four straight 6-0 sets to end the battle and give UChicago the 5-0 win to move onto the semifinals.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will move onto day two in the winner's bracket where fourth seeded Case Western Reserve will be waiting for them starting at 12:30 pm eastern.
