CHICAGO – University of Chicago welcomed Grinnell to J. Kyle Anderson Field as they kept play in the Midwest Conference rolling right along. The Maroons were never able to take control of the lead in the first contest but used a trio on round trippers in game two to split the action on Saturday.
RESULTS
Grinnell – 9
UChicago – 6
Grinnell – 8
UChicago – 15
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Game One

		- University of Chicago (15-20, 14-6 MWC) never led in game one against Grinnell (14-19, 7-10 MWC) after spotting them four runs in the top of the second inning. It wasn't because they didn't try, however. The Maroons plated three in the bottom of the same inning off a William DeForest three run homer but that was offset by two Pioneer runs in the third.
- The Maroons would get back within one run after another RBI from DeForest in the fourth and a Jack Goldstein solo shot in the fifth but that would be as close as they would get. Grinnell added three insurance runs down the stretch to secure the 9-6 victory.

- Game Two

		- A wind blowing from the west kept the offense going in game two and made the left field fence a super short porch for any balls hit with elevation that way. The Maroons put this wind tunnel to the test with three home runs in the contest with Braden Jirovec, Erik Rindner, and Richard Lu getting credit for the round trippers.
- The Maroons had two different frames in which they batted around which allowed them to protect a lead they assumed in the bottom of the second. Five different players were credited with at least one RBI and Jirovec led the pack with six.
- Kason Pelz got his second win of the year in relief and helped the Maroons lock down their 14th conference win of the season in a 15-8 victory to even up the series at a game apiece.
