#4 Women's Tennis Grounds Flyers

CHICAGO – With the end of the regular season quickly approaching, No. 4 University of Chicago women's tennis hosted Lewis at XS Tennis on Saturday. The Maroons had no issue in dispatching of the Flyers and dropped just one match on their way to their fifth win in a row.

RESULT
Lewis – 0
No. 4 UChicago – 7

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • No. 4 University of Chicago (12-1) took two out of three games in doubles to earn the single match tally in the seven-point format they were using when taking on Lewis (11-4). The Maroons won 6-3 and 6-4 in the first and third spots respectively and were competitive in their 6-3 loss in the middle match.
  • Another six points were to follow in singles, though the Flyers didn't go away quietly. They took both Sylwia Mikos and Nicole Geller into third sets, but the Maroons easily won those with scores of 6-1 and 6-2. The only match that didn't finish was Brooke Pedersen's fourth spot battle but she was already well on her way to a win by leading 5-0 in the first set.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Maroons will play their first UAA opponent of the year when they travel to St. Louis to take on WashU on Saturday, April 13th. First serve is slated for 12:00pm.
