Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Back in action for the first time since a thrilling 2-0 win over top ranked St. Olaf last Sunday, seventh ranked University of Chicago men's soccer headed to Michigan for their first road battle of the season. It was there that the Maroons took on host Kalamazoo and moved their shutout streak to 180 minutes as they blanked the Hornets 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Danny Mendoza put No. 7 University of Chicago (2-1) on the board early with an unassisted strike in the 19^th minute. Lyndon Hu also managed to find the back of the net just ten minutes after Mendoza's game winning goal to make it 2-0 UChicago heading into the second half.
• The offensive floodgates opened in the latter frame of the contest as the Maroons added four more goals to the scoresheet. Sam Jimenez, Alex Salvino, and Jedd Horowitz each added a single goal while Jimenez assisted on Mendoza's second strike of the game to put the Maroon and White up by six.
• The UChicago defense kept things so locked down on the other end of the field that keepers Dhirpal Shah and Ali Alamery didn't have much to do. Neither one of them saw a single shot that came on goal out of the two attempts that Kalamazoo (1-1-1) got off in the Maroons 6-0 thumping of the Hornets.
